Where to start

First thing’s first, arrange to speak to our mortgage adviser. It’s completely free and there is no obligation to go any further if you’re not entirely happy. Before you can even make an offer on a property, you’d need a decision in principle - an initial offer from a mortgage lender to show how much you can borrow. There’s no point in looking for properties up to £200,000 if you can only borrow £150,000. Having all your paperwork in order will also impress any sellers.

Next is the exciting part. The search is on. As well as searching on our website, call your local office either in Darlington, Chester-le-Street, Crook or Durham and register on their mailing list. Call all four branches if you want! This means you’ll get a phone call or an email notification as soon as a new property comes on the market so you won’t miss out.
